In order to capitalize on your strengths, you must first be aware of what they are. Avoid textbook answers such as, 鈥滻鈥檓 hard-working, dedicated, and organized.鈥� Your goal should be to provide strengths that support your niche and create a point of difference from other candidates. Utilize your strengths to show you鈥檙e the most qualified for the position. Show your answer is credible by providing a true story that demonstrates the quality.
Sometimes, it can be difficult to identify our strengths. If this is the case for you, asking unbiased people, like past teachers or coworkers, for their thoughts may be beneficial!
Owning Up to Your Weaknesses
A common fear about interviews is being honest when answering the 鈥済reatest weakness鈥� question. It鈥檚 common for interviewees to avoid this question by disguising a strength as a weakness by saying, 鈥淚 work too hard鈥� or 鈥淚鈥檓 upset when I miss a deadline.鈥� These are not weaknesses. Logically, no person is going to admit that they don鈥檛 work hard enough or are happy to procrastinate and miss deadlines.
Interviewers want to hear honest answers. Acknowledging the areas in which you don鈥檛 excel and how you鈥檙e working to turn weaknesses into strengths is a great way to show self-awareness, your willingness to be open and honest, and problem-solving within your own life.

Establishing Your Personal Brand
The most employable candidates are those capable of defining who they are. It鈥檚 essential to be self-aware. Understanding your reputation and being able to convey this image effectively to every person you come in contact with is vital.
